FAQ

Landed Cost & Toy Duty FAQ

What HTS / commodity code do toys use?

Most toys fall under heading 9503 of the Harmonized System — in the US, HTS 9503.00.00. Your exact 10-digit code depends on the toy; your customs broker confirms classification, which drives the duty rate.

Do I pay import duty on toys?

In many markets the general (MFN) duty on toys under heading 9503 is 0%. The major exception is US Section 301 tariffs on China-origin goods, which can add a surcharge. Always confirm the current rate for your product and origin with your broker.

Does this calculator include VAT or GST?

No. The calculator estimates goods, freight, duty, insurance and handling. Import VAT (EU/UK) or GST (Canada/Australia) is charged separately at your country's rate — add it on top when budgeting.

What's the difference between FOB price and landed cost?

FOB is the unit price at the port of origin. Landed cost adds freight, insurance, duty and handling to give the true all-in cost per unit on your shelf — which is what you should price and compare suppliers on.
